Let It Ride Poker was developed by the Shuffle Master Gaming Company in 1993 in order to sell more automated shuffling machines to land based casinos. The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. The game is relatively simple. The player initially places three equal bets in the playing circles. The player is then dealt three cards face down and two community cards. The player is then allowed to look at the other 3 cards and decide whether to raise or fold.
In Let It Ride poker, the player does not compete against anyone else. The basic aim of the game is to get a hand with a pair of tens or better. The house enjoys a 3.5% advantage in this game. There are never any fool-proof ways of winning at Let It Ride poker, but there are several tips that one should follow in order to minimize the chances of losing.
When a player studies the first three cards, the only time a bet should be left is if the player has
- A pair of tens or higher, or three of a kind
- Three cards to a flush with a ten or higher
- Three cards to a straight flush or three cards to a royal flush
When a player receives a fourth card, there are new steps to consider. The bet should be taken back if none of the following card combinations occur:
- A pair of tens or better or two pairs
- Three of a kind or four of a kind
- Four card flush, four card straight flush or a royal flush
Players should also remember that the second bet can be removed even after the first bet has been left.
